Dr. Duriell Bernard - Sports Chiropractor &
Director of Sports Science/Coach
Introduction: Dr. Bernard takes an evidence based, functional and rehabilitative approach to therapy, utilizing a wide variety of soft tissue therapies (myofascial cupping, ART and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Therapy -also known as Graston Technique), exercise based therapies, and electro-modalities to achieve optimum results. Dr. Bernard was a former basketball and track & field standout in his high school days. He also was a Provincial basketball player for 2 years.
Concentrations/Interests/Passions: A graduate from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College, Dr. Bernard completed four years of a specialty honors degree in Kinesiology Health and Science program. Dr. Bernard is also a trained Neuro-functional, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture provider and a trained TCM acupuncturist. Dr. Bernard had the tremendous honor of joining Team Canada during the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Dr. Bernard emphasizes movement based rehabilitation, combining essential movement patterns with daily occupational and sport based movement requirements.
Dr. Bernard joins F.O.R.M. as the Head of Sports Science and Coach. He hopes to utilize his skills in looking at player's from a bio-mechanics standpoint (joint movement, gait, fluidity, heel-to-toe strike, etc.) and athletic injuries.
Wyatt Lew - Physical Therapist
Introduction: Wyatt just completed his Masters of Physical Therapy program in the Faculty of Medicine - Department of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia, where he has also completed his Bachelors in Kinesiology. Born and raised in nearby Burnaby, Wyatt grew up participating in Taekwondo and played Senior Boys basketball at Burnaby North Secondary School.
Concentrations/Interests/Passions: Wyatt is passionate about pursuing further training in Orthopaedic manual therapy and sport physiotherapy upon graduating the MPT program. He is interested in combining his passions for basketball and physiotherapy to provide the best care in injury prevention and rehabilitation. He hopes to utilize his knowledge and skills to assess the player’s functional movements and to provide the appropriate education and treatment for optimal performance.
