Sports Science: What Is It?

Helps maximize performance and endurance in preparation for play and competition, while helping prevent the risk of injury.


It helps to identify strengths and weaknesses, so that training programs can be individualized.


Ensures that athletes are up to date with current training protocols, testing and preparation.

Biomechanics & Movement

Athlete Rehabilitation & Prevention

Our Director of Sports Science, Dr. Duriell Bernard emphasizes "movement based rehabilitation"; combining essential movement patterns with daily occupational and sport-based movement requirements. 


With a background in sports and Sports Chiropractic practice (grassroots, World Championships & Olympic level), Dr. Bernard takes a holistic approach in assessing and treating our athletes from a biomechanics standpoint - mobilization, joint movement, gait, fluidity, heel-to-toe strike, athletic injuries and much more...

Athlete Rehabilitation & Prevention

Team Physiotherapist, Wyatt Lew, utilizes his knowledge and skills to assess a player’s functional movements, to provide the appropriate education and treatment for optimal performance.


His approach is very hands-on and equally as holistic in correlation to Dr. Bernard's. He assesses our athletes from a pre-habilitation  standpoint, first and foremost. If injury does occur, Wyatt uses a multitude of manual therapies and treatments to treat our athletes, for a safe return back to play.

Sports Science & LTAD

Dr. Bernard & Wyatt are both versed with the Long-Term Athlete Development model (LTAD) and incorporate several of the recommendations and guidelines into their clinical practice and treatments of our athletes.


As experts in their respective fields, they stay up to date with the latest research, approaches and techniques; attend professional development conferences, symposiums and advisory boards in order to ensure that our athletes are truly "becoming their best with us".


The division of sports science will be hosting therapy nights throughout 2021 for our members (virtually or in person - when it is safe to do so). Stay tuned for these announcements!
