Greg Fong - Head of Community Engagement ("The Godfather")

Introduction: Coach Fong (aka “The Godfather”) is a NCCP Level 2 certified coach and has been around basketball for the better part of 40+ years as a player and coach. Having attended Vancouver Technical Secondary School, Coach Fong was a standout basketball player in his day. After graduation, Coach Fong chose to forgo a playing career and concentrate on his academics. However, the love and passion for basketball still burned and he quickly took up coaching. From Elementary School boys and girls to Secondary School boys and girls (Juvenile to Senior), to Regional/Provincial Teams with Basketball BC, Coach Fong brings a wealth of knowledge and mentorship to the game.

• Kitsilano Secondary School Junior Boys Basketball Team (Assistant Coach) (Silver Medalists Provincial Championships - BC High School Basketball)
• Kitsilano Secondary School Senior Boys Basketball Team (Assistant Coach) (1st Place Lower Mainland Champions - BC High School Basketball) 
• Kitsilano Secondary School Senior Boys Basketball Team (Assistant Coach) (3x Gold Medalists Vancouver City Final Champions & 8th place Provincial Championships - BC High School Basketball) 

Concentrations/Interests/Passions: Coach Fong earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Simon Fraser University. He has a strong passion for community work and mentorship. His current role as the Provincial Manager, Data & Applications – Supply Chain Transformation for BC Clinical and Support Services (BCSS) enables him to interact with various people and branches/divisions on a daily basis. His previous role in Procurement with the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA), gives Coach Fong a leg up in negotiations and securing F.O.R.M. introductory meetings. In short, Coach Fong is a people person and the ultimate “player’s coach”. He uses this passion and love for his local community to engage F.O.R.M.’s current and prospective sponsors and vendors in promoting the Academy and our program(s). Anyone that knows Coach Fong knows that his mantra is to continually encourage players to do their best on both ends of the floor – regardless of the score.
